Andrew Knox, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant at AZ Ortho in Scottsdale, Arizona. Andrew specializes in shoulder, elbow, and sports injuries. He has years of experience in treating patients with new injuries through the initial evaluation, pre- and post-operative care, surgical assisting, and eventual return to activity.

Andrew attended Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. He graduated with his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training, beginning his specialization in sports injuries. He worked as an Athletic Trainer for 2 years before going on to complete his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

He holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery. He has helped write multiple case studies about shoulder replacements in conjunction with residents at the University of Arizona Orthopedic Surgery Residency program.

He has more than seven years of experience in orthopedic care as a Physician Assistant as well as sports related experience with his athletic training background. Andrew is motivated to help his patients return to their desired activities in the most efficient and uncomplicated way, making sure to collaborate with them directly throughout the process. He diagnoses injuries, interprets imaging and laboratory data, and forms treatment plans in a way that is easy for patients to comprehend. He can provide subsidiary procedures, such as ultrasound-guided injections for specific joints. Andrew strives to make himself available to counsel and advise patients regarding their orthopedic care. He wants all of his patients to feel comfortable and confident from the beginning to the end of their care at AZ Ortho.

Andrew grew up in Tucson, Arizona and is proud to call the desert his home. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his fiancée and their two dogs. He also enjoys working out so he can cook and enjoy all sorts of good food, like his homemade pizza and pasta! He’s always keeping up with his favorite sports teams - University of Arizona, Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, and San Diego Padres.
